Avignon-NewYork Film festival

Another screening last night for "The Wine Bar", very appreciated it seems, for the 12th Avignon-NewYork Film Festival.
Also, there was that very interesting film "Pour l Amour de Dieu" right after: it passed in France on Arte last week, and the directors and actors all came to New York to present it. The film talks about Islam, which is not exactly an easy subject over here these days. Hope it will be nationally broadcasted. I also loved that was shot in one of my ex-neighborhood in Paris (Buttes Chaumont): such a small world huh ?
Afterwhile, i could meet up with all those nice people at the buffet-party, with plenty of tasteful french wines served by french caterers, so sassy !

Big Apple Film Festival 2006

The film "The Wine Bar" was presented at the TriBeCa Big Apple Film Festival 06.
As the music composer, i was invited at the premiere.
The audience reacted quite well -that's a comedy - i received nice words about the music and the after party was cool.

Party around the Block ?

Since i live on this side of the Ocean, i ve seen several "major studio feature film" shoot in my own street, Quincy, but Dave Chapelle's "Block Party" is by far the most interesting ;)...

African day for my guitar at B.B.King Blues Club

Africa came to me this Tuesday November 14: the 5O-date Acoustic Africa Tour came to New York City.
I was asked to perform as a french-english interpreter for a TV interview at the hotel; then i saw the show at BBKing 's Blues Club on 42nd Street (Disneyland Strip ?); More on this tour on http://www.putumayo.com/acousticafrica/
Incredible people of Fairtrade association oxfam were there too: visit their website, support their action (oxfam.org).
Excellent day, very nice meeting and jam with Vusi Mahlasela, Habib Koite and Dobet Gnahore, Keletigui Diabate: we happened to have a lot of common friends in that small music world (not "world music"), so that was immedialtly very friendly, "comme a la maison".Utimately, we had a party backstage, with guitars, drinks, food and all the rest...
I went back home with music and sounds from overthere, happy....

Jamaica in Brooklyn

A little Reggae session in the neighborhood ?
Rastafari...

October day at the Park

I love Brooklyn for so many different reasons, but one is definitly the "open air" life style one can get. Thank you so much Joe Dassin for inventing this !
